Starflight Planets Project

Greetings, Arthlings!

Eventually, I will need data to generate the 811 planets present in the Starflight universe. Towards that end, I have created a sister project called the Starflight Planets Project. Basically, it is just a website that will allow you to upload a specific screenshot for each planet in the game. If you are interested in contributing some of your time to fill in the gaps, visit this link:

Your contribution is very much appreciated! In return, when you give your name when you upload your screenshots, I will make sure that your name (or whatever alias you choose) appears both here on this blog, and in the game itself on a credits screen!

Hopefully, it won’t take too long to collect screenshots for all 811 planets.

Are you looking for the specific planetary data for every planet in SF1 and SF2? The old SF3 team did a survey to do this very same thing a while back and I’ve still got all of the results tucked away someplace, if that’s something you’re interested in.

Specifically, I need screenshots of the EGA version of SF1 where it shows the planet terrain when you select “Land”. I plan to take those images and use it as input into my fractal planet generator so that way the planet landscapes are as close as possible to the EGA version. If you have something already done, you can send it to me and I’ll take a look. It’s possible you could save me (and others) a lot of time. 🙂

Also – I’ll take any other data that you might have!
